When You’re Stuck, Think Simple!

Sometimes it’s the simple things that work the best.  Not that I don’t believe fully in the myriad of tools and techniques I know to shift energy and states of being, it’s just that sometimes they can be too much.

Take yesterday for example.  I have some chronic discomfort in my front upper and lower teeth and gums.  I met with an energy healer and we spent 75 minutes applying a number of energy tools to shift this creation of mine (as in, we each create everything in our lives and every creation is also an illusion).  By the end of our time together there was even more discomfort than when we started.  Sigh.

Certainly not his fault, but it was a great example of the law of attraction that states whatever you focus upon is energized by your focus.  The more I tried to shift the discomfort, the more the discomfort.  There’s a fine line between allowing a creation to “dis-create” and the core dynamic of trying to force a particular outcome.  Big sigh.

Ben Zander popped into my head this morning as I was reflecting on the work I did yesterday with the healer.  I heard Mr. Zander give a truly inspiring keynote at a conference way back in 2004.  So, my antennae went up recognizing communication coming from my Higher Self reminding me of Mr. Zander and his talk on the Art of Possibility.

Letting my mind relax to receive what was there for me, I remembered his drawing of a spiral to represent our thoughts.  “We can either let our thoughts spiral downward, or spiral upward, and the world around us shifts according to which direction we choose.”  Oh so simple that diagram, and in the moment of seeing it again, I experienced the possibility of something different showing up for me.  Funny thing is, it was the energy embedded in that simple drawing that held relief for me, and not necessarily the intellectual understanding of it, which is how symbols work.

Okay, so I’m not 100% without discomfort yet.  However, I’ve stopped trying to make it go away and playing more easily with one of Paul’s tools for finding the energetic state of “living in the reality of” my teeth/gums as a non-issue.  And the spiral is ever present in the background representing the energy of possibility without force, trusting divine timing and letting go of the “cursed how’s”.

Integrative Action Steps for your own take away:

  • It’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to force a change in your life where you are feeling stuck.  Notice if you are trying to make something happen or expecting a specific outcome.  Play with focusing on elsewhere for a change (HA, I see the pun!).
  • When a random memory shows up, recognize it as communication and allow your Higher Self to show you the beneficial aspects of that memory.
  • Symbols are simple ways to ignite a whole “package of energy.”  What symbols in your life move you UP the spiral of possibility?

Would love to hear your comments on receiving communication or the use of symbols in your life.

    Hi Celeste,
As usual when I am thinking I am stuck you pop up with an answer! how wonderful is that! I love the spiral and it will be of use for me and others I am sure. Sorry about the teeth and gums, I’m sure it will be sorted. I have once again have recovered very well from a hip operation. Talk about bionic, this planet is determined that I have more work or fun to have on it eh? Roll on my 70th year, I have much to do. Maybe its more in touch with you? wouldn’t that be great!

Thanks Andrea for your comments. Yes, there is such a fine line between acceptance, trusting and creating something new from infinite potential. I find this intersection of energies interesting and right now the concept of symbols is a place where I’m having fun bridging that gap. The more I look for symbols, the more I see how much they impact our daily life, mostly sub-consciously.

When I first started working with my higher self, I would receive still pictures. More often than not, they were symbols rather than ‘direct’ messages. I think this is because psychic information is usually transferred almost instantaneously, and symbols are a convenient way to pack a ton of small information in a small package. The more I work with my intuition and higher self though, the more I find that certain symbols will repeat themselves or have a certain fixed meaning or situation that they represent, so the more I work with them, the easier it becomes to recognize these symbols, especially when they pop up in my daily life.

One tip I recently learned from this article here:
    http://www.dalepower.net/articles/articles_HigherSelf.html

Is that if you’re having trouble ‘hearing’ your higher self, you should let go of the notion that the Higher Self is separate from yourself. I find that allowing myself to ‘become one’ with my Higher Self usually makes the ‘downloading’ of symbols and other communication from my HS much easier and go much smoother.

Hi David, Thank you so much for your post. I love all of your comments and agree wholeheartedly that we ARE indeed our Higher Selves and that opening to this communication is about opening to more of who we are. When I teach exercises to help people get in touch with their Higher Selves my desire is for them to feel an expansion & recognition of who they are and not to feel this as a “place” to connect to, or anything “outside” of themselves. Thank you too for sharing the article, it’s a good one. Celeste
