Birthing the New Norm of a Conscious Being

It began last Friday in Austin when I joined about 10 other female entrepreneurs over lunch to share what it means to run a business from a heart-centered perspective.  Service to humanity, spirit focused business missions, honoring a deeper calling to fulfill life purposes, birthing evolutionary projects, these were themes expressed among the group.  The energy expanded as each shared from her authentic self.

Then I flew to Los Angeles where The Shift Network and Barbara Marx Hubbard hosted a free (!) day and half conference for any of the more than 2000 people who have participated in the Agents of Conscious Evolution (ACE) Training.  Around 150 people showed up for the weekend.

And “show up” they did.  Participants were fully present to each other, connected to Essence, and eager to give as well as receive from one another.  Each person inspirational in her/his own right.

Barbara herself was lovely.  Accessible, humble, witty, charitable, Barbara is a model for BEING in this world, fully incarnating as Essence in her moment-to-moment presence.  I reveled in her ability to embody the concepts of the “third wave of empowerment,” [Steve Rother] the ability to hold authentic power without diminishing the power of those around her, nor diluting her own power.  It is this harmonizing effect of the third wave that will support the true collaborative nature of Universal Humanity, the evolving transformation potential of our future.

Kudos to Stephen Dinan and Devaa Haley Mitchell of The Shift Network for continuing to model an Enlightened business.  They are generous with their time, talents and passions as they weave a beautiful abundance tapestry of giving and receiving monetary flow through their organization.

A Conscious Evolutionary will always ask, “What is emerging?”

Could it be this heart centered, authentic embodiment of Essence is actually going to be “The New Norm?”

Do You Embody the New Norm?

• There are many who believe the next quantum leap for our human species is to evolve to the “Universal Human,” one whose foundational field of energy is Love.  Listen to the words you choose to use in your own life.  Are you speaking from a foundation of Love or Fear?

• The vision for “Universal Humanity” includes a society that flows from unity consciousness and also honors the unique gifts of each individual. Harmonious daily life happens through a synergistic sharing of those gifts.  Do you collaborate with others from your authentic power, neither dominating others nor diminishing yourself?

 

What do you Propose for 2012?

“What’s your proposal for the New Year?”

While running at White Rock Lake on Dec. 31, a man newly arrived from Mexico asked me this question.  As he shared his “proposal” for his new year in a new country I delighted in his energies of potential and possibility that presented itself.  He came from Matamoros where the drug lords are terrorizing every day life and the expansiveness of the freedom we enjoy here was pouring from him.  When we parted, I was left feeling euphoric with positive possibilities of what it might mean to “propose” to the New Year.

 

“Propose” feels so collaborative; “resolve” feels individuated.
“Propose” is full of possibilities; “resolve” seems inflexible.
“Propose” carries future potential; “resolve” holds shame of the past.

 

For Conscious Evolutionaries, the year of 2012 holds much potential for the Birth and first breath of a new humanity, our next evolutionary state.  Referred to as “Universal Humanity,” this conscious collective is characterized by collaboration, cooperation, peace, sustainability, regenerative economics, co-creativity and unity consciousness.  It is our world movement as a species to a balance of the higher vibrating states of both masculine and feminine energies combined.  We won’t magically arrive at this state all at once, but this is the year of the tipping point, the 100^th monkey effect that moves us in that direction.

“What’s your proposal for the New Year?”

I propose for myself in 2012 to be in synergistic collaboration with the energies flowing around me throughout the year; to step fully into the syntony of being an Agent of Conscious Evolution, aware of synchronicities guiding me toward others who are also resonating with this calling. Our co-creation occurs (supra-sex!) through inspired action based on the spontaneous knowing that flows from our Higher Selves.  In living from this place of our Essential Selves we support our world’s natural syntropy (vs. entropy) to occur and evolution toward the Universal Humanity happens.

Cosmosgenesis, I AM the Story of Conscious Evolution

Be Still.

I received this in a meditation last week when I asked, “What is most wanting to emerge from me?”

Be Still and you will Know.

And now I Know.

I just returned from sitting with a group (always so powerful to synchronize energies with others) whose intention is to sit in the middle of the city for 40 minutes of silence and then to share about that experience.  The first thing I experienced was a deep appreciation for the luxury of having 40 minutes of stillness ahead of me.  It felt very expansive, so much so that the loud noises of traffic, trains, horns, and people moving around us became part of that expansiveness, included and welcomed in that expansiveness.  That was cool.

But the coolest thing was as my inner stillness deepened even as it juxtaposed to the loud hum of the city, I felt the story of “cosmogenesis” become me or, I guess, I became it, I AM it.

In the Conscious Evolution Circles we teach the “Three C’s of Conscious Evolution” based on the works of Barbara Marx Hubbard.  The first “C” is “cosmogenesis,” the story of evolution over the past 13+ billion years.  This is the story that out of nothingness consciousness (God, Source Energy, Nature, Universal Love) occurred.  From that moment forward, the natural process of consciousness was to evolve by quantum leaps, always to higher consciousness, more complexity, greater freedom.  From no-thing, to a the universe, to an earth, to life, to animal life and then human life, the inner impulse of consciousness is to continuously seek higher consciousness, more complexity, greater freedom.

In this moment of sitting, I felt the non-dual state of being formless and the timelessness of the beginning of consciousness TOGETHER WITH the impulse to evolve to higher consciousness that is encoded into our DNA.  I felt myself TO BE the successful evolution of these 13+ billion years of evolution still excited and motivated to seek higher consciousness, more complexity and greater freedom.  The vast awakening that is occurring throughout our world is the turning on of this DNA encoded switch that NOW is the time for our next evolutionary leap.

How to Feel the Story of Cosmogenesis within Yourself:

1. Begin by connecting deeply with your Essence, who you really are.  (Listen to a guided way to do this on my Higher Consciousness Coaching page.)
2. Observe first the field of energy that is you that is timeless, formless, peaceful and infinite, yourself as pure awareness.  Soak in this state for as long as you wish, it is delicious.
3. When you are ready, allow this request to sit in your heart space, “Show me what the evolutionary impulse feels, looks, sounds like in me.”
4. Observe any thoughts, feelings, images, colors, sounds, “downloads,” or impressions that surface within you.  Notice the sensations in your body as you do this.  You are in touch with the DNA of cosmogenesis!
5. Write about your experience in your journal to anchor this awareness.

 

Definition of Conscious Evolution Continued

In my last blog I began to clarify, and also personalize, some meanings of “conscious evolution.” Here is the continuation of the definitions  we are using as we embark on building a Conscious Evolutionary Circle group in Austin (based on the works of Barbara Marx Hubbard).

• Conscious Evolution enables us to use our creative power to envision and create images of possibilities, and then bring those images to life by design.

Most readers of this blog are well aware of the Law of Attraction, the belief that we co-create our lives through the vibrational alignment of our thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and ideas.  (See Abraham-Hicks’ books for more information.)

Conscious Evolutionaries recognize the exponential effects of group co-creation and seek out collaborative opportunities to stimulate evolutionary visions.

I’ve played a lot with group synergies, but usually in the context of personal growth.  However, I feel a distinct pull to grow beyond my own spiritual inner aspirations and begin to live more consciously as a global citizen.  I don’t really know yet all of the ways that I can contribute to the transformation of our world – that thought can even feel overwhelming – but I do know its important for me to follow this urge of deep resonance.

• At its core, Conscious Evolution is a spiritually motivated endeavor affirming that humans are co-creators with Spirit, nature and universal design.

Through the 13+ billion years since the “big bang”, the natural process of evolution is actually non-linear and occurred through quantum leaps, each time to a state of more complex and higher consciousness.  This transitional period we are now in is a natural phase change from self, separated-consciousness to a universal whole system-consciousness.

Conscious Evolutionaries recognize a primary foundation of embodying “oneness” is to fully allow their Essence to incarnate in the physical body, taking dominion over the many faces of Ego (read more) thus working in synchronous partnership with higher states of consciousness (Spirit, nature, universal design).

Living from Essence is to know the difference between your Higher Mind (Higher Self) and the many voices of your Ego. The primary way I distinguish is by how the guidance feels.   Feels good, beautiful and/or true?  Must be Essence.  Feels bad, judgmental or confusingly false? More likely Ego, which is all about holding me in a separated state.

• Conscious Evolution is the emergence of a universal humanity capable of guiding its own evolution into a future of unimaginable co-creativity.

We are a product of 13+ billion years of successful evolution and we carry this history of evolutionary success in our very DNA. Millions of people at this specific time in our planet’s life are awakening to a deeper truth about who they really are and their purpose for being here at this time.

Conscious Evolutionaries feel this deeper truth as the very impulse of evolution giving rise to an “ecstatic urgency” (Andrew Cohen) to form social systems that are cooperative, collaborative, creative, synergistic and peaceful.  These are the attributes of a “universal humanity.”

I am practicing a meditation that is focused on feeling this impulse of evolution rising in me.  It is this very “ecstatic urge”  that is compelling me to reach out to others to form community around these ideas of Conscious Evolution.

Practicing Conscious Evolution in Your Own Life:

• Develop your “evolutionary eyes” by noticing challenges in your life as evolutionary drivers.  When something is coming up differently than you want ask yourself, “What is wanting to evolve in me and emerge as new and innovative?

• Develop your “evolutionary voice” by initiating evolutionary conversations about your dreams and visions for the planet for the shifts you want to see.  Find others who are willing to create a field of hope and possibility for our planet.

• Develop your “evolutionary ears” by listening for opportunities to work collaboratively and creatively with others who inspire you with positive solutions to local challenges.

• Develop your “evolutionary impulse” by becoming a social Agent of Conscious Evolution either by joining the Barbara Marx Hubbard program, joining a Conscious Evolutionary Circle, or by starting one of your own!

What Does Conscious Evolution Mean?

In preparation for the new Conscious Evolutionary Circles that begin this month (details below) I developed a handout to create clarity around the definition of “conscious evolution.” In collaboration with my ACE (read more) partner Randy Fenton, we synthesized the materials from our course and came up with some definitions below.  My exploration today is to personalize these definitions as a way to understand where I stand in my daily life in relationship to Conscious Evolution.

1. Conscious Evolution takes place when we intend to grow in consciousness and use our increasing awareness to guide our actions and achieve a positive future.

In my 40’s I began to seek spiritual awareness, discovered “energy” in 2004 with the purchase of a WaveMaker, which then precipitated a consciousness awakening.  I’ve continued on this path of conscious expansion (a great resource is the Consciousness Playground), even writing a book on how to use this awareness as a guide.  My next growth phase is to move from individual evolution to planetary evolution.

What are your intentions for Conscious Evolution?

2. Conscious Evolution is a process by which we can individually and collectively take responsibility for our future by taking purposeful action.

“The outward movement into form does not express itself with equal intensity in all people.” (Eckhart Tolle)

Your “purposeful action” may look like dedicated recycling, causal philanthropy, or even a daily focus on maintaining a state of inner peace.  Frequency-holders “are here to generate consciousness through the activities of daily life, through their interactions with others as well as through ‘just being.’  They affect the world much more deeply than is visible on the surface of their lives. “ Eckhart Tolle is saying you still affect the “collective consciousness” even as you focus as an individual and that you play a critical role in conscious evolution.

Still others “feel a strong urge to build, create, become involved, achieve, make an impact upon the world.” (Eckhart Tolle)  If this is you, then your time is NOW to become involved with the evolution of our planet.  We are in the midst of a shift that is still undecided.  Yet, as self-aware species, we have the opportunity, for the first time in evolution, to change by choice rather than by chance, to break through rather than to break down.  Be-causal be-cause you can! The world is ripe for your investment of time and energy.

These are the first two of five definitions from our handout.  For now, contemplate for yourself where you stand in your own conscious evolution and your relationship to the conscious evolution of our planet.

Essence Takes Dominion Over Ego

In meditation one morning recently I was led down a ladder into a cave and met by a toucan type bird flying with his mouth wide open. Garbage was rushing into his mouth. “Is that what I do? Take in a lot of crap?” I asked. My Higher Self answered with a vision.

Then I was eye level with 1000’s of ants scurrying all around. “This is like the world, lots of minutia, lots of activity. Learn how to observe it, but not be of it. There is going to be more of this than ever before. Stand up and look from this vantage point and observe the hectic movement. Feel the difference of standing peacefully amongst all of that activity. When you observe from here you can see where to step outside the path of the ants. Learn to step around the ant beds [just as you do in your world now].”

This meditation dovetails with a primary practice we are playing with in the summer session of the ACE Training. Through the teachings of Barbara Marx Hubbard and the meditations of her sister, Patricia Ellsberg, we are completely focused on moving from Ego to Essence in our daily lives.

One of the deepening practices is to ask Essence, while in meditative communion with her, to take dominion over all “local selves,” the term used to describe the many faces of Ego. This step is about incarnating Essence, creating a union of my body/mind with my Higher Self to live as one, a non-dual being, a Universal being. Essence feels expansive and has a broad observation vantage point, much like standing up among the ants. When Essence has dominion, local selves/ego actually relax, letting go of the need to have to be in control, in a hurry to get things done. This state allows Essence/Higher Self and Ego to work together as one, to take action from a higher vibratory state leading to syntony, or attunement, with your deeper life purpose.

Practices to Allow Your Essence to Take Dominion:

• Learn first how to be in communion with your Essence/Higher Self. Use the coupon code PRINT for 50% discount for the print version of How To Channel Your Higher Self.

• While fully aligned with your Higher Self, ask that your local selves allow your Essence to have complete dominion of your body/mind. Allow any local selves to “discuss” their fears with Essence about what it means to give up control. Your Essence lovingly assuages any fears.

• Once in dominion, allow Essence/Higher Self to guide, nurture and collaborate with local selves, taking inspired actions that flow from the connection to the Higher Mind/Noosphere.

Inspired to Passion

Who inspires you? Last night my ears perked up when I heard Diana Nyad’s name mentioned on the news about her upcoming swim from Cuba to Florida.  Diana was one of my first mentors for physical fitness as a lifestyle.  Her book, Basic Training for Women, was written in such an inspirational, motivational and personal way that I found myself thinking of Diana almost as a personal friend.  This was 30 years ago!  I think my desire to be in partnership with my body - to honor it, respect it, to find joy in moving it, to feed it well, to learn from it – can be traced back to Diana’s motivational reverence for the mind/body/life connection.

So here I am 30 years later inspired once again by Diana’s persistence to live out a dream. She attempted to swim from Cuba to Florida in 1978, and also intended to complete this swim last summer in celebration of turning 60.  In both cases, weather, something beyond her control, stopped her.  Diana is once again on the brink of realizing this dream.

One of my primary intentions while participating in the Youthening Program (energy downloads channeled through Wendy Down) is to feel the passion of my younger self, the me who believes she is here to make a difference in this world. Listen to Diana as she also steps into the passion of daring to follow through on an earlier dream, to feel herself as the collective energy of her aging cohort who are unwilling to be defined by conditioned beliefs about aging.

Are You Responding to Your Evolutionary Impulse?

My deepest desire is to live the continuous experience of BEING pure awareness, living from my essence, fully engaged in the is-ness (read more) of each moment as it unfolds gracefully, guided by the joy, excitement and evolutionary impulse of the proceeding moment.

This past weekend I treated myself to the luxury of a five-hour retreat devoted to being fully present to what is bubbling inside of me and allowing that to flow out through my writing. (Check out Carolyn Scarborough, Backyard Pearls for info on her fall retreat!).  What flowed from me was an amazing validation of the work I’ve been doing with the ACE training.  In the desire statement above you can see these foundations of being an Agent for Consciousness Evolution unfolding through me:

1. Feel the impulse of billions of years of consciousness evolution rising up through my very core creating a powerful pull to step fully into my evolutionary purpose.
2. Follow my “compass of joy” to recognize my path.
3. Through this joy-path, allow my unique strengths and gifts to surface.
4. Giving rise to my gifts brings me into alignment with my essence, pure awareness, my deep authentic power (read more).
   
5. From authentic power I access “vocational arousal” (love that term!) to share my gifts for the evolution and transformation of our planet.
6. Utilize my arousal to be a resource provider (read more) who facilitates the awakening and inspiration for others to step fully into their evolutionary impulse.

Ideas for You to Step More Fully into Your Evolutionary Impulse:

• Activate your inspiration by listening to the Birth 2012 Activation Call.  Even if you are not called forth to be a part of this particular program, you will stimulate the synchronicities (read more) of the Universe to attract to you the path that is resonant for you.
• Every day experiment with sitting quietly before beginning a task and placing the question, “What is most wanting to joyfully emerge from me in this moment?”  From a poised mind, allow the answer to bubble forth and observe what shows up.  Take action from this deeper knowing.

Gestating FREEDOM

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’m in a gestational period.  I’m incubating the next phase of my vocation, though I do not yet know what it looks like.  I do, however, have the full support of the Universe as I am receiving many synchronous signs about what this next phase feels like – FREEDOM!

A couple of weeks ago I was walking home from the gym where I am a personal trainer, thinking about client hours, cancellations, income, the time oriented nature of this biz, and retirement.  The question I raised for myself was, “If you retired, what would you want to do with your time?”  Well, I treasure the physical training I do with others and would want to keep a few clients; I enjoy playing with energy, consciousness expansion, and sharing these kinds of resources with others; I get pleasure from writing about living from a connection with your Higher Self.   A huge wave of recognition flowed through me and I just had to laugh out loud!  I am already living in a way that reflects what I want to do when I “retire!”  I am already experiencing the FREEDOM I imagined for my future.

Last week I confessed to a friend I had wasted too much time lately playing Angry Birds (really? it’s embarrassing!).  She told me that when she was pregnant she had the most delicious feeling of being continuously productive, regardless of whether she was “in action” or not.  She was producing a baby when she was taking a nap, watching mindless TV or working; the most important thing was that she was gestating. There it is, FREEDOM to follow whatever is calling to me whether it is strategic games to entertain my mind, or bike rides to fuel my body, or sharing my professional skills, the real productivity of gestating my future is happening 24/7 and it needs the time, space and FREEDOM to do that.

One last example is from the Agents of Consciousness Evolution training.  Our focus the past few weeks is around allowing our compass of joy to bring forth our unique skills and gifts so that we each can use these in service to the transformation of our world. As Agents, we see ourselves as the pioneers modeling a co-creative community that honors every ones’ strengths and gifts, providing the FREEDOM for people to self-express in ways that empower their highest contribution to the community.  It’s the FREEDOM to be who you really are, abundantly supported on all levels, to joyously evolve our world through your own full self-expression.

Integrating More Freedom Into Your Life:

• Where in your life do you feel the most restricted or stuck? Now take the opposite view and “make a case” in your journal how this part of your life actually reflects some aspect of FREEDOM.  What insights or inspired action steps come from this?
• In your quite time, ask yourself, “What is growing in me that wants to be shared with the world?” You may not receive a specific answer, but you may receive a feeling, an image, a color, a thought, a scenario. Just notice what shows up and allow this new information to incubate. Check in again after a few days to see what else is present. How is this information moving you toward experiencing more FREEDOM of self-expression in your life? • Whenever I lead clients to experience themselves as their most expanded Self and ask, “What are you feeling?” invariably I hear “FREEDOM.” Listen to my meditation, “The Mental Gap,” which leads you through the experience of feeling yourself as pure energy. From Revelations to Crystallization

Crystallization.  Of all places it happened this past weekend as I listened to a funeral sermon and heard: “Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away.”  My ears perked up and I felt a deep cord of resonance flow through me.  “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” (Excerpts from Revelation 21:1-27 ESV)  And I heard within me this interpretation, “Behold, God is everything.  He dwells within all that is and all that is, is One.”

Crystallization.  Many facets of my spiritual life are coming together, crystallizing to show me how I have been preparing for this transition into our New Earth that is happening NOW.

Did you participate as I did with the 100’s of thousands that joined Oprah and Eckhart Tolle in the ground-breaking webcast of A New Earth?  Could that really be three years ago?  In Chapter 1, Tolle refers to this same scripture and writes, “A ‘new heaven’ is the emergence of a transformed state of human consciousness, and ‘a new earth’ is its reflection in the physical realm.”  A seed was planted on my path.

Last fall I joined in the Feminine Power Teleclass for Awakening Women with Katherine Woodward Thomas and Claire Zammit and accessed for the first time some deep conditioning around powerlessness that I was clueless to its limiting affect on my life.  Using many of the tools from the Consciousness Playground, I began to disassemble this conditioning. Another seed nurtured.

Six weeks ago I planted these “Dream Seeds” in my Blooming Humans project:  1)  To consistently, with grace and ease, stay in tune to my inner guidance and live continuously in the field of excitement, curiosity and joy, and 2) Allow a new manifestation to flow easily into my field of awareness that is fun and calls to me.  And then, Birth 2012 showed up!

Crystallization. I am an Agent of Consciousness Evolution (ACE).

Training to be certified as an ACE began last night (it’s not too late if you also feel called!). I was moved and inspired by this highly conscious integration of science and spirituality. But, more importantly, I felt the deep resonance that this work is on my path.  I don’t know yet how it will manifest through me, but it is clear that I will share the story of our conscious evolution and play a part in this transition to our New Earth. Be-ing an Agent of Conscious Evolution is the crystallization of many of the seed facets of my path.

• Raise your inner antennae as you listen to music, news, conversations, trainings, see images, readings, etc, and feel for an inner “zing.” This is your indicator your Higher Self is calling to you to pay attention.  What is the pattern of the messages you are receiving?
