Clean Desk, Create Vacuum, Feel Feminine Power?
I have a personal training client that frequently stimulates me with interesting conversation while we move through her workout. Last week we ended one workout talking about feeling drawn to creating more intimate female friendships and the shifts in feminine energy we’re experiencing. Within a day or two of that conversation I received an email about a teleclass on “Feminine Power.” Hmmm.
The next time this client was in she told me about spending a lot of time in the spring clearing out a particularly nasty weed from her grounds only to find that after our bouts of rain another weed has taken hold of the area. She reminded me, “Nature abhors a vacuum.”
Then another email arrived with information about the full moon and the astrological implications. This is a time to look at relationships (to things, people, projects, ways of being) whose structure is ready to change.
These ideas stirred around in me Monday evening as I pulled weeds in my own yard, listened to the audio recording of the Feminine Power teleclass and waited for the full moon to rise. The teleclass is geared toward the “awakening woman” and discussed the “symptoms” that women are feeling as the energetics of the world shift from a masculine to a more feminine energy. This isn’t the maternal/healing/nurturing energies associated with the feminine of the past, rather, a brand new, evolving energy that is being cultivated and intuitively co-created through the collective consciousness emerging in the now.
The part that most resonated with me was the image of feeling 10 months pregnant, yet unable to birth what is yearning to come forward because the specifics aren’t yet known. “So,” says I while pulling weeds, “if Nature abhors a vacuum, then where in my life am I too full, holding on to something that no longer needs me? Where am I ready to change a relationship to something and create a vacuum that will then attract what is wanting to be birthed?”
Wednesday morning a client cancelled, then a workout got canceled and a call rescheduled and it was raining! All combined to create the time to clean up my desk. Wallah! For two years I’ve had papers in various and sundry piles all relating to the writing, production and marketing of my book. That’s the thing that no longer needs me. I’m ready to shift my relationship to this book! With each filing, tossing and clearing away of the pieces of that project I could feel energy returning and a vacuum forming.
My desk is now clearer and more organized than it has been in two years. I signed up for the teleclass with the intention it midwifes this overdue pregnancy. And the wonderful thing about doing this consciously, is I have the power to say yea or nay to what comes forward to fill the vacuum; no new weeds, please.
Before I completely move on, just letting you know the bonuses attached to my book expire at the end of August. If you want to maximize your purchase, receive some great e-books, audio recordings, workbooks and e-courses, best make your purchase now.
Integrative Action Steps If You’re Ready to Create a Vacuum for Attraction:
- Are you sensing a restlessness or yearning in your body/mind, but don’t have the slightest idea why?
- What person, job, project, environment, or other relationship are you holding on to that no longer serves you?
- What real or symbolic action can you take that allows you to let go and create the vacuum?
- Utilize your “feelers” and notice the synchronicities that now show up. Feel whether you want to welcome the new things, or not, into your life. You have a choice.
When You’re Stuck, Think Simple!
Sometimes it’s the simple things that work the best. Not that I don’t believe fully in the myriad of tools and techniques I know to shift energy and states of being, it’s just that sometimes they can be too much.
Take yesterday for example. I have some chronic discomfort in my front upper and lower teeth and gums. I met with an energy healer and we spent 75 minutes applying a number of energy tools to shift this creation of mine (as in, we each create everything in our lives and every creation is also an illusion). By the end of our time together there was even more discomfort than when we started. Sigh.
Certainly not his fault, but it was a great example of the law of attraction that states whatever you focus upon is energized by your focus. The more I tried to shift the discomfort, the more the discomfort. There’s a fine line between allowing a creation to “dis-create” and the core dynamic of trying to force a particular outcome. Big sigh.
Ben Zander popped into my head this morning as I was reflecting on the work I did yesterday with the healer. I heard Mr. Zander give a truly inspiring keynote at a conference way back in 2004. So, my antennae went up recognizing communication coming from my Higher Self reminding me of Mr. Zander and his talk on the Art of Possibility.
Letting my mind relax to receive what was there for me, I remembered his drawing of a spiral to represent our thoughts. “We can either let our thoughts spiral downward, or spiral upward, and the world around us shifts according to which direction we choose.” Oh so simple that diagram, and in the moment of seeing it again, I experienced the possibility of something different showing up for me. Funny thing is, it was the energy embedded in that simple drawing that held relief for me, and not necessarily the intellectual understanding of it, which is how symbols work.
Okay, so I’m not 100% without discomfort yet. However, I’ve stopped trying to make it go away and playing more easily with one of Paul’s tools for finding the energetic state of “living in the reality of” my teeth/gums as a non-issue. And the spiral is ever present in the background representing the energy of possibility without force, trusting divine timing and letting go of the “cursed how’s”.
Integrative Action Steps for your own take away:
- It’s easy to fall into the trap of trying to force a change in your life where you are feeling stuck. Notice if you are trying to make something happen or expecting a specific outcome. Play with focusing on elsewhere for a change (HA, I see the pun!).
- When a random memory shows up, recognize it as communication and allow your Higher Self to show you the beneficial aspects of that memory.
- Symbols are simple ways to ignite a whole “package of energy.” What symbols in your life move you UP the spiral of possibility?
Would love to hear your comments on receiving communication or the use of symbols in your life.
My Friend Charlie
My friend Charlie left his physical body last Saturday. His body was 92 years old and had been a very good body to inhabit for many years.
I met Charlie at fitness camp the year I was 31 and he was 69. Interestingly, I just found out in a bio that was the year he was named an All American triathlete. I just knew he was an “old man” who was a good runner and had the unusual habit of carrying a long bone, decorated Native American style, as he ran. Charlie’s name is still in the record books holding many of the age group records, both in Texas and nationally, for distances from the 5K to the marathon. Here he is at age 88
running the Fort Worth Cowtown 10K (which he helped start in 1979) on a blustery and cold February day.
As I got to know and love Charlie, he stopped being an old man and became ageless. He had the enthusiasm and curiosity of a young person, the wit and intellect of a man full of life experiences, and the wisdom and groundedness of an old soul. Charlie was generous, humble, kind, funny, smart, and spiritual. He always made me feel like I was his “special” friend, yet, I know that each and every one of his friends also felt that way.
In recent years I began to talk to Charlie about his beliefs about the world, why we’re here and who we really are, since that was my current interest. Charlie was a man of science and approached these concepts from the intellect. (Being born in the winter, this is exactly the way of his design according to the medicine wheel philosophy, something he ascribed to.) I’m more of a feeler, more interested in energy states. In our little microcosm we mimicked the world of science and spirituality, and just as is happening in that macrocosm, we found our intersection in quantum physics. We shared resources, talked about our non-physical selves as energy, and listened to each other’s perspectives.
What stuck with me was a state he called the “forever now.” I shared with him some of my “expansion” exercises. These came close, but never quite matched the ecstatic (?), peaceful (?) state, he experienced only once or twice in his life, his glimpses behind the veil. I feel quite sure he is currently experiencing the “forever now,” a state that is beyond any intellectual description or feeling either of us could imagine in our conversations.
When I was in college I read Jonathon Livingston Seagull and I loved this quote. It seems appropriate. So, to my friend Charlie, with love:
“Remember, Jonathan, heaven isn’t a place or a time, because place and time are so very meaningless…. If our friendship depends on space and time, then when we finally overcome space and time, we’ve destroyed our own brotherhood. But overcome space, and all you have left is Here. Overcome time and all you have left is Now. And in the middle of Here and Now, don’t you think that we might see each other once or twice?“
